Drug Uses
Esgic Plus is a pain reliever and a relaxant. It is used to treat tension headaches.
How Taken
You should use this medicine only the way your doctor has prescribed it. It must be not taken in bigger or less doses that instructed and not for longer periods than prescribed. The usual dose for adults is one or 2 capsules or tablets on every four hours as needed. Each capsule and tablet of Esgic contains 325 or 500 milligrams (mg) of acetaminophen and you should not take more than six capsules or tablets a day.
Warnings/Precautions
If after you have used Esgic for a certain period of time and you notice that it does not have the same effect as it had in the beginning, this can state that you are in danger of becoming dependent on the medicine. This doesn’t mean that you have to increase the dose so that you can feel a better effect. If you begin to suffer from headaches more often than before starting the treatment with Esgic or your headaches become very frequent, appearing every day or for several days in a roll, this is a clear indicator that you have become dependent on this drug. If you continue to take it, this will lead to even more headaches. Consult your doctor for directions how to get over the headache problems.
Missed Dose
If your physician has given you a special dose schedule to follow and you have forgotten a dose, take it as soon as you notice. If it is too close to the next one, ignore the missed one and resume your usual dose schedule
Possible Side Effects
Alarm your doctor immediately if you experience any of the listed side effects especially if several of them occur together: fever with or without chills, bleeding or crusting sores on lips; chest pain; mental depression,hive-like swellings (large) on eyelids, sore throat, face, lips, and/or tongue; troubled breathing, muscle cramps or pain; red, thickened, or scaly skin; shortness of breath, tightness in chest, or wheezing; skin rash, itching, or hives; sores, ulcers, or white spots in mouth (painful); confusion (mild); unusual excitement (mild)
Storage
You should store away from children. Make sure it is not exposed to heat and direct light. Do not put in the bathroom, near the kitchen sink, or in other damp places. Heat or moisture may lead to break down of the medicine.
Overdose
If you doubt an overdose, find instant medical help. An overdose of this drug or taken in combination with alcohol or CNS depressants may cause unconsciousness or possibly death.
