Drug Uses
Renova is a drug, purposed to treat wrinkles, surface roughness and brown spots on the face. Renova is also efficient for stretch marks, such as those seen on the abdominal wall in women after pregnancy. The product can be also used for acne treatment. Renova works on the basis of binding to specific cell receptors of skin after a topical application. The activation of the cell receptors is followed by a modification in gene expression, subsequent protein synthesis, and cell growth and differentiation. Thus, the epidermal cell starts to produce a greater amount of new skin. In clinical studies there is observed an enhanced production of collagen in treated skin areas.
How Taken
Renova should be applied once a day, before bedtime, on the affected areas. For your convenience, use a a gauze pad or cotton swab to apply a thin layer of the liquid. You should wash your hands right away after use. The application of larger or smaller doses of this drug will not improve the results, just the opposite, there may occur side effects. Do not put the drug in touch with the eye, mouth or open cuts area as it can cause skin irritation. You can observe worsening of your acne symptoms during the first days of treatment. Do not stop using Renova as its effects will be obvious after three to six weeks. Do not wash face excessively and use a soft soap.Your skin can get irritated by the use of different cleansers, abrasive soaps, medicated creams or lotions. Consult your doctor or pharmacist regarding the use of such products. Be cautious if you use other acne preparations while using this medication.
Warnings/Precautions
This medication can lead to increase of sunlight sensitivity, wind and cold. During treatment with Renova, avoid continuous exposure to the sun and sunlamps. Make sure you wear appropriate protective clothing and use an effective sunscreen. If you are pregnant, use this drug only if needed. There is not any information whether Renova appears in breast milk. Before breast-feeding, consult your doctor. Wash your face with mild soap and do not wash it excessively. Missed Dose
In case you forget a dose, take it the moment you remember. If it is close to the timing of the next dose, just miss the dose u have forgotten about and go back to your normal dose timing. Do not take two doses at a time in order to make up for the one that you have missed.
Possible Side Effects
Renova can cause to feel your skin warm or stinging or there can occur redness. Peeling of the skin is also possible. These symptoms should disappear in the further stages of the treatment as your body needs time to adjust to the drug. If the symptoms do not disappear and become persistent, discontinue treatment. It is also possible Renova to be the reason for the increase of your sun sensitivity. It can also lead to itchiness and scaling of the skin. Itching and scaling can appear also if you increase the amount of the applied substance.
Storage
Keep ate normal room temperature and protect from sunlight. Make sure the drug is out of reach of children.
Overdose
Overdoses are very unlikely to occur. If you do have any doubt of possible overdose, or if Renova has been ingested, call an emergency room or the nearest poison control center.
More Information
In case you have been previously treated with keratolytic preparations or exfoliants, you need to wait until any skin rash clears up and then begin Renova treatment. There is not any information about the effect of Renova on pregnant women. That’s why you should take Renova only under a doctor's supervision and when truly needed.
