Viagra is purposed to treat impotence in men. It increases the ability of the body to achieve and maintain an erection during sexual stimulation. Viagra does not give you a protection from getting sexually transmitted diseases, including HIV.
How Taken
Viagra comes as a tabletfor oral use. It should be taken about 1 hour before sexual activity. However, Viagra can be used anytime from 4 hours to 30 minutes before sexual activity. It should not be taken more than once a day. You should not take bigger or smaller doses or take it more frequently than prescribed.
Warnings/Precautions
Before starting treatment with Viagra, inform your doctor if you have ever had a stroke, heart attack, or life-threatening irregular heartbeats during the last six months; have a history of heart failure; coronary artery disease; high or low blood pressure; angina; liver problems; blood problems, including sickle cell anemia or leukemia; kidney problems, a bleeding disorder, retinitis pigmentosa (an inherited condition of the eye); a stomach ulcer; a physical deformity of the penis such as Peyronie's disease; a condition that could lead to prolonged and painful erections, such as a tumor of the bone marrow, sickle cell anemia, or leukemia; or if you are taking another medicine for treating treat impotence. In those cases there is a chance that your health condition may not be appropriate for Viagra, or you may need a special adjustment of doses or special monitoring during treatment. Although Viagra is not used by women, it is in the FDA pregnancy category B. It is not expected to be harmful to an unborn baby. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or if there is a chance to get pregnant during treatment. Viagra is not known to get into breast milk and whether it may have negative influences on a nursing infant. Consult your doctor first if you are breast feeding. If you are older than 65 years of age, you are more likely to experience side effects from Viagra. Your doctor may prescribe a lower dose of this medication.
Missed Dose
As Viagra is used as needed, there is not any chance to skip a dose.
Possible Side Effects
Side effects are usually mild to moderate and don't last longer than a few hours. Some of these side effects are more possible to appear when patients have taken higher doses. Most common side effects are flushing of the face, headache and upset stomach. Less common but still possible side effects are eyes being more sensitive to light, temporary changes in color vision (such as trouble telling the difference between blue and green objects or having a blue color tinge to them) or blurred vision. In some cases, it is possible to get an erection that lasts many hours. Contact your doctor immediately in case you have an erection that lasts more than 4 hours. If not treated right away, there can occur permanent damage to your penis. Other possible reactions regarded the use of Viagra are stroke, heart attack, irregular heartbeats, and death. Most, but not all, of these men, having those reactions had heart problems before taking this medicine. It is not possible to determine whether these events were directly related to Viagra.
Storage
Store away from children. Keep Viagra in its original container. Keep at 25°C (77°F); temperature changes possible between 15-30°C (59-86°F).
Overdose
In case you have overdoses, find instant medical help. Overdose symptoms are unknown but it is possible to include dizziness, chest pain, an irregular heartbeat, and swelling of the ankles or legs.

You must not take Viagra, in case you take any medicines that contain nitrates – either regularly or as needed. If you use Viagra in combination with any nitrate medicine or recreational drug containing nitrates, your may experience dropping of your blood pressure to an unsafe level. This may lead to feeling dizzy, fainting, or even having a heart attack or stroke. Nitrates can be found in many prescription medicines that are used to treat angina. Viagra should be used only by patients with erectile dysfunction. Viagra is not suitable for for newborns, children, or women. You should not give Viagra to other people.
